4X ProTour 2026 – JBC, Czech Republic

Qualifying – 13th
Race – 6th
Round 2 of the 2026 4X ProTour took place in Jablonec, Czech Republic last weekend. After a strong start to the season in Dobrany, where Scott finished 5th, he was looking to continue his drive for the overall title in Jablonec. . We were confident and focused on the task ahead.
Historically this track hasn’t been the best for Scott. But this year Scott has been riding better than ever and the team had an air of confidence all week.
The track is the creation of Scott’s arch rival, Tomas Slavik, in his hometown of Jablonec in Northern Czech Republic. It is the toughest track on the circuit with the biggest jumps, forest section, rocks, wall rides and rhythm sections. It has it all and it is also the longest track so it is extremely physical.
Thursday – Practice:
Practice began on Thursday and it was in perfect condition. However. There were 45 mph gusts of wind. With immaculate track preparation ahead of the race, everything was ready to go. Scott completed about 10 laps of the track and was looking much more at home than in previous years. Careful tyre choices from Schwalbe and Fox suspension settings were giving Scott the feel he has always chased at this track. With the strong winds, Scott opted to not jump the biggest of the jumps on the first day of practice as the forecast was lower winds on Friday.
Friday – Qualifying:
On Friday the weather was absolutely perfect. The track crew watered the track in the morning to make sure it was ready for qualifying later in the day.
After a great practice session, it was time for qualifying. Scott was seeded 5th for this race, so he so he qualified at the end of the session. He laid down a great lap, but with times tighter than ever, he crossed the line with the 13th fastest time. It’s worth noting that Scott was the second non Czech rider in qualifying! There had definitely been some practice ahead of the race by the locals!
“I made a great start and rode all the lines well. I pushed where I felt comfortable. I’m happy with the run. A bit gutted with 13th, but times are very tight. I rode hard where I could and made sure I didn’t crash in other parts. It is so tough out there.” said Scott in the finish area.
Saturday – Race Day:
Saturday started with a final practice session. A chance for riders to dial in their race lines and prepare for racing.
Before the racing, the top riders were introduced to the crowd. Scott took bis time riding down and stopped on the pro line to wave to the crowd. They went crazy! As always these fans have always supported Scott at this race.
Onto the racing. In Scott’s first race, he took gate 2. With a great start he went into the first turn leading. He rode a perfect lap and took the win convincingly.
In the quarter finals racing got very serious. Scott had the 4th pick on the gate and he took gate 4. Scott made, possibly, one of his best starts of his career. With just 2 pedal stokes on this first straight before a series of jumps, Scott’s 1-2 was incredible and he made it all the way over from the outside to lead into turn 1. Again he led the race start to finish and moved into the semi final. A guaranteed top 8 finish.
In the sim final he was on gate 4 again. Making another good start, it wasn’t enough. He exited turn 1 in 3rd. He chased hard all the way but could not get into the top 2. So it was into the small final for Scott.
In the small final, again, Scott was in gate 4. Yet again he made an absolutely perfect start and was able to do the impossible for a second time. He made it all the way over to take the lead into turn 1. Again he rode a perfect lap and he was almost home….. until, on the final straight, Scott hit a rock and that threw him over the front of the bike. Most would have crashed but he was able to hold on – just. But it was enough to lose the lead. By just a bike length he finished 2nd and that gave him 6th for the night.
A cruel way to end the night but as Scott said in the finish:
“I can’t believe it. I just can’t believe it. Gutted doesn’t come close. I had it and just drifted wide, clipping that rock. On the plus side thats my best result ever here. I rode great all night. My gates were the best I have ever produced. Over 10,000 spectators just saw 4X in it’s finest light’.
As the finals unfolded things went well for Scott. When the overall results were published, Scott had moved up to 2nd in the 4X ProTour Overall standings with 2 rounds remaining.
